Express Liquid Screeds are underfloor heating installers who handle the whole floor, not just the pipes. As part of your liquid screed package, we offer a full consultation, design, supply and installation service for wet underfloor heating systems, then lay the screed over the top ourselves. One team, one programme, and no gaps between trades.
Whatever your building type or heat source, we can design a system around it. Send us your plans and we can generally turn around a fully customised, written underfloor heating design within 24-48 hours.
Underfloor Heating Design in 24-48 Hours
Getting the design right is what makes underfloor heating comfortable and efficient to run. To prepare yours, we only need three things:
- The type of heat source you’ll be using
- What the system will be installed onto (the subfloor)
- A copy of your building or project plans
From that, we can usually provide a customised, written underfloor heating design within 24-48 hours, so you can price and programme your project with confidence.
Why Liquid Screed Is the Natural Partner for Underfloor Heating
A flowing liquid screed surrounds the heating pipes completely as it’s poured, leaving no air pockets between the pipe and the floor. That close contact helps heat move evenly from the pipes into the room, and liquid screed can typically be laid thinner than a traditional sand and cement screed, which reduces the overall floor build-up.
The pairing also suits modern low-temperature heating. The Energy Saving Trust notes that because wet underfloor heating has a far larger surface area than radiators, it can run at lower boiler or heat pump flow temperatures, which helps cut running costs. That’s why it’s the usual choice alongside an air source heat pump.
Works With Any Heat Source
Whether your project runs on a gas boiler, an air source or ground source heat pump, or another heat source, we’ll design the system to match it. If you’re still deciding between systems, our guide to electric underfloor heating pros and cons explains how electric mats compare with a wet system laid in screed.
Quality Components from Trusted Manufacturers
We’ve partnered with two long-established and highly regarded underfloor heating brands, Ambiente Underfloor Heating, who manufacture superior quality underfloor heating components and packages. As with every service at Express Liquid Screeds, we use only the best materials and carry out every installation to the highest standards.
Who We Work With
Our underfloor heating installers work with self-builders, homeowners renovating or extending, main contractors and developers on residential and commercial projects. We’re happy to coordinate directly with your other trades so the floor goes in around your programme, not the other way round.
Underfloor Heating Installers Across London and the South East
Based in West Sussex, we install underfloor heating and liquid screed across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London and the wider South East, and can take on larger projects further afield. Call us to check availability for your area.
Underfloor Heating FAQs
How long does it take to get an underfloor heating design?
Once we have your heat source, subfloor details and plans, we can generally provide a fully customised written design within 24-48 hours.
Do you install the screed as well as the underfloor heating?
Yes. That’s the main advantage of using us. We install the underfloor heating system and pour the liquid screed over it, so the whole floor is handled by one team from sub floor to final screed.
Can underfloor heating work with a heat pump?
Yes. Wet underfloor heating is well suited to heat pumps because it can run at lower flow temperatures than radiators, which helps a heat pump work more efficiently. We’ll design the system around your heat source.
How much does wet underfloor heating cost to install?
It depends on the size of the area, the subfloor and the system specification. As a national guide, Checkatrade (cited by the Energy Saving Trust) puts wet systems at around £85 to £110 per square metre installed. Send us your plans for an accurate written quote.
When can the underfloor heating be switched on after screeding?
The screed needs time to cure before the heating is used, and the first heat-up should be gradual, following the screed manufacturer’s guidance. Our liquid screed aftercare guide explains what to do and when.
